The Problem
Youth unemployment in Ouanaminthe, Nord-Est remains critically high. Without structured pathways to skills and income, young people face limited economic futures. Agriculture — the backbone of the local economy — goes underdeveloped for lack of training, tools, and organized support.
About This Project
AHVED is proud to sponsor the D'Osmond Summer Youth Job Cohort in Ouanaminthe, Nord-Est, Haiti — a partnership with SAKALA International and the Centre Éco Spirituel de la Compagnie de Jésus, hosted on the land of D'Osmond under the blessing of Père Eddy Modestin.
15 youth (age 16+) will receive paid stipends, a 30-hour certified curriculum, and hands-on agricultural training over two months (July 15 – September 15, 2026). Crops include cassava, moringa, and castor seeds — cultivated with dry-season water from the west stream.
AHVED's $2,000 gift covers youth stipends, field coordinator, tools, seeds, equipment, and operations. Every dollar is traceable; monthly financial reports are provided to AHVED.
This is a charitable donation partnership. AHVED receives recognition, full reporting, and youth profiles — not ownership or financial return. Ownership in the farm cooperative belongs to the youth, earned through their labor.
