Annual recognition of individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to their communities — in the diaspora and in Haiti.
Why This Program Exists
In Haitian tradition, a konbit is when the whole community comes together — combining strength to accomplish what none could do alone. No payment. No politics. Just people who care, doing the work.
Konbit Pou Sove Ayiti is a diaspora-powered movement organized by AHVED and the Pauline Show. It channels the energy, resources, and love of Haitians abroad into concrete programs that change lives on the ground in Haiti — scholarships, neighborhood transformation, entrepreneur investment, youth rehabilitation, and community recognition.
This is not charity. This is collective action. Every program in Konbit Pou Sove Ayiti is built on the principle that Haiti's future depends on Haitians — in the diaspora and at home — choosing to invest in their country together.
What We Provide
Konbit Katye Pam Pi Pwòp: Monthly neighborhood cleanup drives, solar lighting initiatives, reforestation and community gardens, safety programs, and citizenship workshops. Monthly prizes: 1st place 50,000 gourdes, 2nd place 25,000 gourdes, 3rd place 10,000 gourdes.
Konbit Bous Detid: Technical trade scholarships for programs under 1 year, covering agricultural techniques, plumbing, electrical, tiling, and more. Funds paid directly to the enrolled school. Applications open May 1 through June 30 annually. Results announced July 31. Recipients must volunteer with Konbit Pou Sove Ayiti. Essay required: how your training will help Haiti.
Konbit Envestisman: Investment up to 500,000 gourdes for entrepreneurs aged 25-40 with a business in agriculture, local production, or innovation. Detailed business plan required. Konbit becomes your business partner — management guidance and network promotion included.
Youth Rehabilitation Program: Re-education focused, not punitive. Criminology experts and psychological therapy. Structured discipline through mentorship. Skills training and career pathways. Community reintegration support.
Konbit Hall of Fame: Annual community-nominated honorees recognized across AHVED platforms and at the annual Konferans TÈM event.
Who Is Eligible
Konbit Bous Detid: Young Haitians seeking technical trade training in programs under 1 year, with no other financial aid sources. Must be willing to volunteer with Konbit Pou Sove Ayiti and submit an essay on how the training will help Haiti.
Konbit Envestisman: Haitian entrepreneurs aged 25-40 with a business focused on agriculture, local production, or innovation. Detailed business plan required.
Konbit Katye Pam Pi Pwòp: Any neighborhood in Haiti willing to organize monthly cleanup drives and improvement efforts.
Youth Rehabilitation: Young people from difficult backgrounds in Haiti seeking a second chance through re-education and skills training.
How to Enroll
To apply for Bous Detid scholarships: Submit your application through AHVED's contact form at ahved.org/contact between May 1 and June 30. Include your school name, chosen trade, and essay.
To apply for Konbit Envestisman: Submit your business plan and application through AHVED's contact form. Include how your business will create local jobs and benefit your community.
