Every November · 4 cities across South Florida
Every Thanksgiving season, AHVED distributes free turkeys and full grocery bags to hundreds of families across South Florida — because no family should go without during the holidays. The giveaway runs across multiple cities simultaneously, coordinated by volunteers and community partners.

Annual Back-to-School & Supplies Drive
Every Summer · July–August · 5 cities across South Florida
Each summer, AHVED distributes thousands of backpacks, school supply kits, and food boxes to families preparing for the school year. The event doubles as a health fair — offering free physicals, vision screenings, and haircuts — so families get everything they need in one place, for free.

When disaster strikes — a hurricane, an earthquake, a flood — AHVED activates. We mobilize volunteers, coordinate collections, and partner with local food banks and churches to get food, water, and supplies to families fast. Our network spans South Florida and Haiti, giving us reach that traditional relief organizations often miss.
2010
Haiti Earthquake
Following the catastrophic January 12 earthquake that killed over 200,000 people, AHVED mobilized the diaspora community to collect food, water, medicine, and supplies shipped directly to affected families and communities in Haiti.
2016
Hurricane Matthew — Haiti & Florida
Category 4 Matthew devastated southern Haiti and struck Florida's coast. AHVED coordinated emergency food and supply distributions on both sides — supporting displaced families in South Florida and relief efforts in Haiti.
2021
Haiti Earthquake (Mag. 7.2)
The August 2021 earthquake struck the southern peninsula, killing over 2,200 people. AHVED organized community collections and fundraising drives to send emergency aid to Haiti.

After major storms affect South Florida, AHVED activates rapid-response food and relief kit distribution — partnering with local food banks and churches to reach families who fall through the cracks of traditional relief systems.

School Materials & Supplies — Haiti
Collected in Florida · Shipped to Haiti
AHVED regularly collects school supplies, books, uniforms, and materials in South Florida and ships them directly to schools and communities in Haiti. Access to school materials is a daily barrier for families in rural Haiti — a single notebook or pencil set can determine whether a child attends school that week.
This effort is community-driven: churches, schools, businesses, and individuals donate supplies that AHVED packages and coordinates shipping for. If your school, church, or business wants to organize a supply drive, we make it easy.
