Haiti Development

Relief is not enough. AHVED invests in the long-term development of Haiti — schools, agriculture, infrastructure, and community capacity — because we believe in a Haiti that rebuilds itself from the inside out, powered by its diaspora.

School Support — St. Marc & Beyond

Long-standing commitment to schools in St. Marc, Haiti — supplying materials, funding repairs, supporting teachers, and ensuring children have what they need to learn.

💧

Clean Water & Infrastructure

Access to clean water remains one of the most pressing needs in rural Haiti. AHVED supports water access projects in communities where contaminated water causes preventable illness.

🏥

Health Missions in Haiti

Medical missions deploying nurses, doctors, and health professionals to provide free care and screenings to communities with no access to healthcare. Over 3,000 patients served.

🌾

Konbit Sant Agricol

Diaspora-funded agricultural training centers in Haiti — equipping farmers with modern techniques, sustainable practices, and the resources to feed their communities.

🤝

Post-Disaster Relief

After the 2010 and 2021 earthquakes, Hurricane Matthew, and other disasters, AHVED mobilized the diaspora for rapid relief — food, medicine, and supplies to affected families.

Why This Program Exists

Haiti is the most food-insecure country in the Western Hemisphere. Decades of disaster, political instability, deforestation, and economic exclusion have left millions of families without reliable access to food, clean water, healthcare, or education.

AHVED believes that relief alone cannot rebuild Haiti. After an earthquake, after a hurricane, after every crisis — families need more than emergency supplies. They need the infrastructure, skills, and community organization to rebuild their own future.

Since AHVED's founding in 2007, Haiti development has been at the center of our mission. Our primary partner city is St. Marc, where we have maintained a long-standing commitment to schools, community projects, and local leadership. We also work across rural Haiti through Konbit Sant Agricol and our medical mission program.

What We Provide

School Supply Shipments: AHVED regularly ships backpacks, notebooks, pens, uniforms, and learning materials collected in Florida directly to schools and families in Haiti.

Health Missions: Medical teams deploy to rural communities to provide screenings — A1C blood sugar, blood pressure, vision, and general wellness — to families with no access to care.

Konbit Sant Agricol: Diaspora-funded agricultural training centers in Haiti, equipping farmers with modern techniques, sustainable practices, irrigation infrastructure, crop diversification, farmer cooperatives, seed banks, and soil restoration.

Livestock support: Veterinary access, training in livestock management, and breeding stock support for smallholders. Reforestation: Tree planting programs, agroforestry, community-led forest management, and erosion control.

Post-Disaster Relief: Community collections and fundraising drives for emergency food, medicine, and supplies after disasters affecting Haiti or Florida.

Who Is Eligible

Families and communities in Haiti, particularly in St. Marc and surrounding areas, are the primary beneficiaries of Haiti Development programming.
