Haiti Development
Relief is not enough. AHVED invests in the long-term development of Haiti — schools, agriculture, infrastructure, and community capacity — because we believe in a Haiti that rebuilds itself from the inside out, powered by its diaspora.

Community Projects in Haiti
School support in St. Marc · Health missions · Infrastructure · Emergency relief
AHVED's Haiti work is rooted in real relationships with communities — particularly in St. Marc, a city in the Artibonite department where AHVED has maintained a long-term presence through school support, health missions, and direct community investment. These aren't one-time projects. They're ongoing commitments built on trust.
School Support — St. Marc & Beyond
EducationAHVED has a long-standing commitment to schools in St. Marc, Haiti — supplying materials, funding repairs, supporting teachers, and ensuring children have what they need to learn. Our diaspora network fundraises year-round for school needs identified directly by local leadership.
Clean Water & Infrastructure
InfrastructureAccess to clean water remains one of the most pressing needs in rural Haiti. AHVED supports water access projects in communities where contaminated water causes preventable illness and keeps children out of school.
Health Missions in Haiti
HealthAHVED has organized medical missions to Haiti, deploying nurses, doctors, and health professionals to provide free care and screenings to communities with no access to healthcare. Over 3,000 patients have been served through these missions.
Post-Disaster Relief
EmergencyAfter the 2010 earthquake, the 2021 earthquake, Hurricane Matthew (2016), and other disasters, AHVED mobilized the diaspora for rapid relief — food, medicine, and supplies shipped directly to affected families.
Community Infrastructure Support
InfrastructureFrom school building repairs to community centers, AHVED channels diaspora contributions into physical infrastructure that serves communities for decades. Every project is community-identified and community-led.
Lifting Haiti's Agriculture
Konbit Sant Agricol · Livestock · Reforestation · Markets
Haiti was once called the "Pearl of the Antilles" — one of the most fertile islands in the Caribbean. Decades of deforestation, political instability, and underinvestment have stripped the land and left millions food insecure. AHVED and the Konbit movement are committed to reversing this — one farm, one community, one generation at a time.
Konbit Sant Agricol
Launched — Konferans TÈM, May 23, 2026
The flagship agriculture initiative of Konbit Pou Sove Ayiti. Konbit Sant Agricol develops diaspora-funded agricultural training centers in Haiti — equipping farmers with modern techniques, sustainable practices, and the resources to feed their communities. Presented officially at AHVED's Konferans TÈM on Agriculture in Haiti (May 23, 2026).

Livestock & Animal Farming Support

- ✓Veterinary access and animal health programs
- ✓Training in livestock management
- ✓Breeding stock support for smallholders
- ✓Market access and fair pricing support
Reforestation & Environmental Restoration
Deforestation is at the root of Haiti's food insecurity. Without trees, soil erodes, water disappears, and crops fail. AHVED supports reforestation efforts that restore Haiti's land and long-term agricultural potential.
- ✓Tree planting programs across rural communities
- ✓Agroforestry — combining trees with crops
- ✓Community-led forest management
- ✓Erosion control and watershed protection
Agricultural Markets & Economic Access
Growing food is only half the equation. Haitian farmers need access to fair markets, transportation, and storage to turn their harvests into sustainable income. AHVED supports market infrastructure and cooperative selling.
- ✓Farmers market development and organization
- ✓Cold storage and post-harvest loss reduction
- ✓Transportation and logistics support
- ✓Fair trade and direct-to-buyer connections
How the Diaspora Builds Haiti
Haitian diaspora remittances already exceed all foreign aid combined. AHVED channels that power into structured, accountable, community-led programs — so your contribution creates lasting change, not dependency.
