Why This Program Exists
Haitian and immigrant families in South Florida face a complex web of systems — healthcare, housing, immigration, employment, schools, social services — all in a language that may not be their own. Without the right guide, families fall through the cracks of programs designed to help them.
AHVED's Community Support Centers operate on a simple principle: no wrong door. Whatever brings a family in, our team connects them to the help they need — whether that's food assistance, emergency rent support, healthcare navigation, or know-your-rights workshops.
We serve Fort Myers (Lee County), Port Saint Lucie (St. Lucie County), and Lake Worth (Palm Beach County).
What We Provide
Benefits screening — SNAP, Medicaid, LIHEAP, WIC, and more. Our navigators screen for every program a family may qualify for and help with applications.
Warm referrals to vetted partner agencies. We do not just give you a phone number. We make the call with you, follow up, and make sure the connection was made.
Emergency rental and utility assistance. Crisis food boxes and supplies. Domestic violence resource connections. Rapid-response coordination with shelters and crisis lines.
Know Your Rights workshops. TPS, DACA, and residency application support connections. Citizenship and naturalization preparation resources.
Job search and resume support. Connection to vocational training programs. Financial literacy workshops. Microenterprise and small business referrals.
Rental assistance application support. Emergency housing connection. Tenant rights education. Transitional housing referrals.
All services offered in Haitian Creole, French, Spanish, and English.

Any individual or family facing a challenge. We serve all nationalities, immigration statuses, and income levels. If you need help, AHVED's door is open.

Walk in to your nearest AHVED Community Support Center location during business hours, or call (239) 245-9010 to speak with a navigator. No appointment needed for most services.
