Mission & Vision

Our Mission

To empower underserved communities by dismantling barriers to healthcare and facilitating seamless integration into American society.

"Pauline Show is the voice. AHVED is the institution. Konbit Pou Sove Ayiti is the movement. CANA is the faith-led alliance for nation-building."

Founding Purpose

Since 2007, AHVED has worked to empower all Haitians at home and abroad — embracing Haitian youth and helping Haitian immigrants in the United States successfully integrate into American society through education and community engagement.

Our Vision

AHVED envisions a future of health equity for all — where every barrier is eliminated and every individual can access the resources they need to reach their full potential. We believe a stronger diaspora builds a stronger Haiti, and a stronger Haiti is possible when communities organize, invest, and lead from within.

Core Values

Community-Focused

We unite people around shared objectives, because collective action creates lasting change.

Integrity-Driven

We respect values and ethical principles in everything we do — transparent, accountable, and honest.

Commitment-Based

We are dedicated to a common, idealistic purpose: a self-sufficient, thriving Haiti and a supported diaspora.

Civic-Minded

We promote civic responsibility, community participation, and diaspora engagement in both Haiti and the U.S.

Our Approach to Haiti

International support has too often prioritized humanitarian aid over systemic development. AHVED delivers assistance in a way that allows Haiti to grow, develop, and prosper — one community at a time. Through Konbit Pou Sove Ayiti, we organize neighborhoods to lead their own development, with the diaspora as a partner, not a rescuer.
