What Free Legal Aid Covers

Lee County Legal Aid Society handles the following types of civil cases for eligible low-income residents:

Landlord/tenant disputes
Wage garnishment and debt collections
Small claims cases
Civil court matters
Probate — wills, trusts, and estates
Family law
Foreclosure
Name changes
Employment issues
Real estate matters
Insurance disputes

Note: Legal aid attorneys cannot represent clients in court proceedings, and do not handle criminal, intellectual property, or maritime cases. Referrals are provided when needed.
