A Heartwarming Success
On July 20th, 2024, the AHVED community came together for a heartwarming and impactful Back to School event in Naples, Florida. The event was a resounding success, bringing together families, students, and community members for a day filled with generosity, care, and support.
A Strong Community Presence
The event saw a fantastic turnout with a total of 194 participants. This included 81 families, each benefiting from the wide range of services and supplies provided. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and the joy of coming together for a shared purpose.
Supporting Our Students
The highlight of the event was the distribution of backpacks and school supplies, ensuring that students of all ages are prepared for the upcoming school year. A total of 130 backpacks were distributed, with supplies tailored to meet the needs of:
84 toddlers and young children
32 teenage boys
14 teenage girls
Each backpack was packed with essential items to help students start the school year on the right foot.
Services for Adults and Families
In addition to supporting students, the event also offered vital services for adults. 55 adults with children and 26 adults without children attended, making use of the various health and community services available.
One of the key services provided was eye screenings by Sante Plus Medical Center, assisting 15 adults in checking and maintaining their eye health. Additionally, health screenings and physicals were conducted for 40 students, ensuring they are ready for the school year ahead.
Community Care and Assistance
The event also featured a food giveaway, which provided nourishment to 133 participants. This essential service helped families ensure that their children have the energy and sustenance needed for learning.
Furthermore, immigration services were available, with one person receiving much-needed assistance. This demonstrates AHVED's commitment to supporting every aspect of our community's well-being.
A Day to Remember
The AHVED Back to School event in Naples was a beautiful demonstration of community spirit. From the distribution of school supplies to health screenings and food giveaways, the event touched the lives of many and showcased the power of coming together.
